It's a huge loss and I feel your pain. I lost my 14 year old soul dog just before Easter in April. It shattered all of us in the family including our two other dogs, but life goes on, the sadness and grief still keeps on coming in waves, it's totally normal and to be expected.

Stability yes, because she is with you and the love you had for her will always be there. Losing Barney shattered us last year, but we some how kept it together. Talking about the memories always helps get through any rough patches. I truly believe that some of their energy stays long after they leave us.
